A Relaxed Experience with Meg

Hi, I’m Meg — a photographer, mum of two and the person behind Megan Marshall Photography.

I know that getting out of the house with a baby can feel like an achievement in itself. You don’t need to arrive with a perfectly settled little one or worry about them needing a break.

My approach is calm, friendly and led by your baby. I’ll guide you throughout, leaving plenty of room for cuddles and those lovely, unplanned moments.

My studio is based in Penistone, South Yorkshire.

Your newborn session captures the little details of those early days, with a gentle, relaxed approach and time for feeding, changing and cuddles. There’s no pressure for your baby to perform or settle straight away.

You can book during pregnancy. We’ll pencil in your due date, then arrange your session once your little one arrives.


Sitter photography in Barnsley — little smiles, big personality

By the time your baby is sitting, there’s a whole new side of them to capture. Think gummy grins, curious expressions and those gorgeous little rolls.

We’ll plan this session around when your baby can sit confidently unaided, rather than a fixed six-month date. Every baby develops at their own pace, and this session is all about celebrating where yours is right now.


First birthday cake smash in Barnsley — time to celebrate!

One whole year of loving them. That deserves a celebration.

A cake smash is a playful way to mark your baby’s first birthday, capturing their reactions as they explore, get messy and show off their personality.

Whether they dive straight in or take their time investigating, we’ll follow their lead and capture the fun as it happens.

You’ll come back to the same face every session (sorry, thats me!) and studio throughout the year. We’ll get to know each other, and I’ll learn a little more about your family with each visit.

When should I book?

You’re welcome to book during pregnancy. Getting in touch with your due month lets us plan ahead, with your newborn session date confirmed after your baby arrives.

What if my baby arrives earlier or later than expected?

Your due date is our starting point, rather than a fixed appointment. Let me know when your little one arrives and we’ll arrange your newborn session together.

FAQ

Does the sitter session have to take place at 6 months?

No. We’ll arrange it when your baby can sit confidently without support. The milestone matters more than their exact age!

Where do the sessions take place?

All three sessions take place at my photography studio in Penistone, Barnsley, S36. Welcoming families from across the surrounding South Yorkshire area.

FAQ

Do I need to pay anything upfront (if not paying in full)

No. Your £50 booking fee forms part of the £450 total, with the remaining payments due before each session.

What if my baby / toddler gets upset during the session?

That’s absolutely fine. These things happen! We’ll make time for feeds, changes, cuddles and breaks, taking our lead from your little one.
